Belief systems – What could really be changed
For a long time, I was convinced that my inner beliefs were the real problem.
"I am not enough."
"I have to be strong."
"I must not show any weakness."
Such sentences kept recurring.
And the idea behind it sounded logical:
If I change these beliefs, my life will change.
Between knowledge and reality
It's true:
Some beliefs can be identified and questioned.
I have learned to ask questions:
Is that really true?
Where does this idea come from?
Does he still serve me?
Some beliefs were indeed outdated.
Old adaptation strategies.
Learned defense mechanisms.
These could be changed with time, awareness, and repetition.
If it is not a belief system
But not everything was a thought.
Some reactions did not stem from conviction,
but from the body.
Fear is not always a "false belief".
Sometimes it's a stored experience.
I noticed,
that I was wronging myself
if I immediately viewed every internal reaction as a "mindset problem".
Not everything needs to be reprogrammed.
Some things need to be regulated.
What could really be changed
The most changeable things for me were:
- rigid self-images
- excessive performance demands
- the expectation of having to bear everything alone
Not through a single thought.
But through repetition, experience, and safety.
Some beliefs did not disappear completely.
But they lost power.
Today
I continue to work with my inner narratives.
But more carefully.
Not every uncertainty is a "false belief".
Not all fear is irrational.
Thoughts can influence reality.
But they do not arise in a vacuum.
What could be changed,
changed through stability.
Not through pressure.
