Movement & Yoga – between regulation and performance mindset
For me, movement was for a long time either everything or nothing.
Either I followed through consistently.
Or I could just leave it alone.
Only much later did I understand,
that my body doesn't need a challenge.
He needs exercise.
Ten minutes can be enough
Sometimes ten minutes are enough.
Ten minutes of conscious stretching.
A short yoga session with a video.
A walk without a destination.
Not as a project.
Not as self-optimization.
But as a return connection.
Especially if you've never done yoga before,
A simple, calm video can be a good starting point.
Without perfection.
Without pressure to perform.
It's not about having the perfect posture.
It's about staying in the body.
When movement pressure is applied
There were phases in which movement became a benchmark for me again.
More.
Harder.
More consistent.
I noticed that sometimes I didn't train,
to stabilize myself,
but to prove myself.
The nervous system does not distinguish between "I have to function"
and “I train for my health”,
if the inner attitude remains the same.
Movement can regulate.
However, it can also increase stress.
Different forms of discharge
Sometimes my body needs rest.
Sometimes he needs to release his tension.
A walk can help regulate things.
But also strength training.
Or hit a punching bag.
Or a pillow.
Not as aggression.
But as a drain.
Anger is energy.
And energy needs to be moved.
As I see it today
I exercise regularly.
But no longer with the goal of achieving something.
Sometimes it's yoga.
Sometimes a walk.
Sometimes intense exercise.
And sometimes it's deliberately nothing.
Movement is no longer proof for me today.
but a tool.
And sometimes ten minutes is enough.
